Michael Beale has spoken at length in recent weeks about the size of the task facing him at Rangers.
The Gers boss is starting to feel the heat in a season that is virtually over but one that could so easily have ended with two trophies heading back to Ibrox.
No Old Firm derby wins means that whatever Michael Beale has up his sleeve for the summer, he has to get it right.
Mysteriously, an Instagram post appeared, and disappeared just as quickly on social media, seemingly from Beale’s account.
Cryptic in nature – as they usually are – it got tongues wagging amongst the Rangers support.
“A dream without a plan is just a wish – let’s go.”
Depending on your mindset, you could think that this is a suggestion that Rangers are drifting.
The “let’s go” suggests, however, that Michael Beale is happy with the direction that the club is heading in and that the pieces are falling into place for next season.
In the last few weeks we have seen Douglas Park resign, Ross Wilson leave, the managing director announce his departure to be replaced by a new chief executive, the academy director leave and the manager claim that the squad is going to be ripped apart.
None of this has happened by accident, with Michael Beale leading the way Rangers fans could well see double figures coming in and heading out in terms of players so there must be a plan of some sort.
There is a negativity around the club that will only be lifted by deadwood being removed and new, exciting, players arriving.
It’s a situation we shouldn’t find ourselves in.
If the club hadn’t sat on its laurels after winning the league in 2021, Rangers have found out the hard way that it is more difficult to stay at the top than it is to get there.
Although we made hard work of getting there too.
