Rangers will not hand over their evidence to an internal SPFL investigation over the botched league-ending proposal vote, according to club insider Four Lads Had a Dream.
Recently announcing stronger media links to the club, the popular Gers influencer made the comments as news broke of the SPFL launching an internal investigation into the situation.
Rangers called for an investigation to be launched into the SPFL due to evidence supplied to them by a whistleblower.
The Ibrox club deem this evidence serious enough that they want to see the immediate suspension of SPFL chief executive Neil Doncaster and legal advisor Rod McKenzie whilst it is carried out.
The club will only supply this evidence to an impartial investigator rather than directly to the SPFL.
These calls were echoed by Rangers boss Steven Gerrard, who repeated the suggestion that an internal investigation is like the SPFL “marking their own homework” [Sky Sports].
“The SPFL have said they’re open to an internal investigation but I don’t agree with that because you shouldn’t really be allowed to mark your own homework,” said Gerrard.
“If you mark your own homework, you’re always going to come top of the class. There’s not going to be any questions asked.”
The comments come as the SPFL announce they have controversially accepted Dundee’s altered Yes vote, bringing the Championship, League One and League Two to an early end.
The vote also gives the SPFL the power to end the Scottish Premiership.
