Self-confessed transfer insider and Twitter pseudonym Jimmy McCann has claimed talk of Chinese interest in Rangers’ Alfredo Morelos is “made up and false”.
The normally reliable online twitter account is famous for exclusive reveals of transfers and even predicted Rangers signing Joe Aribo long before the press carried the story.
But amid reports of Hebei China Fortune being prepared to offer Morelos £30m across three years, McCann claims the reports are nonsense.

The popular account – which has 17k followers – says that it can “100% confirm” that the news is “made up and false”.
The Chinese Super League club was said to be willing to meet Rangers’ close to £15m demands for Morelos’ services but after feeling the player out opted against the move.
Sky Sports News claimed the reason for this was the Colombian’s reluctance to move to China [Sky Sports News].
The news that Morelos turned down the money would’ve been encouraging for Rangers fans who’re desperate to hold on to the fiery striker for another season.
Rangers boss Steven Gerrard also fielded questions on the story as the club prepared to play Progres in the Europa League, saying “I’m unaware of it. There have been no bids. It is as you were from the last time.”
Whether the Chinese interest from Hebei China Fortune was real or not it doesn’t change the main thing for Rangers fans.
Alfredo Morelos remains a Rangers player.
