Rangers fans have descended on Portugal’s second-largest city ahead of this evening’s Europa League fixture against Porto.

After largely being kept away from Bern for the club’s first away fixture in Group G, Bears have made up for it by travelling in their numbers this time around.

This is a glamour tie against a team who reached the quarter-finals of the Champions League last season, and although the Gers are underdogs, they’ll be backed all the way by those who’ve made the trip.

This afternoon, Paralympian and multiple Grand Slam-winning wheelchair tennis player, Gordon Reid, shared an incredible video on Twitter of a large group of fans in full voice.

In an area of the city alongside the Douro river, supporters have taken over the local bars and restaurants, with flags hanging from all available walls.

In Reid’s short clip, the Thunderclap has been rolled out and ‘Every Saturday we follow’, reverberates around the area.

You can be pretty sure that when Young Boys travelled to Porto last month, they didn’t create quite such a din.

It’s great to see the travelling Bears creating some pre-match atmosphere, and hopefully, there’ll be plenty to be vocal about when the game begins.

The Gers are on the hunt for a result to keep them at least level on points with the Portuguese giants, heading into their showdown at Ibrox in a fortnight.
