"I'm content at Rangers" – Alfredo Morelos bites back at transfer rumours

The future of Alfredo Morelos was a hot topic of debate going into the transfer window. It seems transfer rumours are never far away from the Colombian.
However, during the actual window the striker’s future hasn’t really cropped up at all. He’s went about his business quietly and it looked like Morelos was about to get through January without a transfer related hitch.

That was until The Daily Record reported that Nice are lining up an £8m move for the Colombian striker.
Not that any off-field transfer rumours seem to be influencing Morelos. The boisterous striker spoke candidly about his time at Ibrox to HJK Helsinki TV, saying he was very content in Glasgow.

It might be in in Spanish, but you can hear the “contenido” and “goles”. Morelos also looks very happy to speak to his old side. The interview was after Rangers 3-2 friendly win against Helsinki on Sunday, but it certainly answers any questions on Morelos being settled in Glasgow.

“Content” Morelos not going anywhere

If it were up to Morelos, it certainly sounds like the Rangers talisman is in no rush to leave the club.
And that’s a feeling echoed by boss Steven Gerrard. In today’s pre-match press conference, Gerrard told anyone planning a move for Morelos straight.

“None of my players will be going out the door, certainly in this window,” said Gerrard. “So anyone who’s preparing a bid or thinking of a bid will be wasting their time.”
Gerrard isn’t the only one of Alfredo Morelos’ Managers who values his talent. His ex-boss at HJK Helsinki Mika Lehkosuo believes the Colombian is now “ready for bigger things”.
Let’s just enjoy him while we can.
