Kevin Muscat has been one of the names linked most regularly with the Rangers job and seems as if he has as good a chance as any of the contenders.
As one of the managers who is currently employed, and with the J League season approaching its climax, there were doubts about how readily he would jump ship if he was offered the chance to replace Michael Beale.
Speaking on the Heart and Hand daily update for the 8th of October though, Kevin Muscat would be good to go, if Rangers picked up the phone to the former non-nonsense defender.

Kevin Muscat in Rangers manager job boost
David Edgar has provided regular news from Ibrox with regards to managerial targets but, rather than Kevin Muscat being one of those that is ruled out, it is good news for fans who want the Australian to get the Rangers job:
“There was a story that went about saying that Muscat said going to stay at his club until the end of December, that isn’t true.
“His camp has denied that and has said they don’t really know where that has come from.
“Whether someone has found old quotes and constructed something, but they do not know.
“That would not be an issue if Kevin Muscat was offered the (Rangers) job, he would start straight away.”

The international break buys the board some time but, with a Europa League campaign still in the balance and a league cup to be won, they won’t want to hang about.
There are still 30 games of the league still to be played too and, if Kevin Muscat is the man they want to lead Rangers, he will have more than enough of a chance to claw back the seven point gap.
