Rangers lifted the Viaplay Cup on Sunday as captain James Tavernier conjured up a late winner against Aberdeen.
It marked an incredible few days for the Ibrox giants, with Philippe Clement guiding his team through to the last 16 of the Europa League just three days before the Hampden showdown.
Finally, Rangers have the trophy they have won a record 28 times back in Govan after going 12 years without getting their hands on it.
The journey began with a home tie against Greenock Morton, before wins over Livingston and Hearts got Rangers to the final.

Aberdeen were unbeaten in two games against Rangers this season heading into the clash. But Gers were far superior on the day and Tavernier’s excellently executed strike made for a memorable night of celebrations.
Rangers coffers will have been boosted too by the success. And when counting up the total guaranteed cash brought in thanks to the Viaplay Cup run, it’s not a bad little earner. Here, we calculate how much money Rangers earned.
Rangers Viaplay Cup prize money
Ahead of the Viaplay Cup group stage draw, the SPFL announced in the summer of 2023 that there would be a record overall prize pot for the tournament’s participants.
It meant over £2.3m worth of prize money alone was to be dished out, with the winners getting the largest share.
With Rangers going all the way to claim glory in the competition, the club scooped £380k prize money. Not absolutely amazing but we’ll definitely take it.
Rangers Viaplay Cup TV income
On top of the prize money confirmed by the SPFL, the governing body also said further sums – facility fee payments – would be handed out to clubs involved in live televised matches.
For every club involved in a knockout round tie all the way up to the final that was broadcast on television, they would receive £27k per match.
Rangers saw all of their Viaplay Cup encounters shown on TV so in total, the Ibrox club earned £108k of facility fee payments.
So by adding up the prize money and TV income, Rangers earned £488k from their Viaplay Cup success in total.
