Rangers might not just be about to have new owners, they might also be about to become a hotspot for the great and good of Hollywood.

The 49ers Enterprises finance arm of the San Francisco 49ers led by Paraag Marathe have agreed a takeover of Rangers and they are well known for attracting high profile investors.

Could an actor once dubbed ‘the sexiest woman alive’ by Esquire be about to join a long list of celebrities dipping their toes into football after a Rangers related post on Instagram?

Has Shay Mitchel dropped Rangers investment hint?

Dollface and Pretty Little Liars actor Shay Mitchell, originally from Canada but with a Scottish father, has added a touch of glamour to Rangers’ 2021/22 shirt by donning one for her latest social media content.

The randomness of the post has caught the eye, and it doesn’t take Agatha Christie to join the potential dots.

Will Ferrell is a minority investor with Leeds United, Russell Crowe is also a famous investor as part of the 49ers Enterprises group with golfer Jordan Spieth and the most decorated Olympian of all time, Michael Phelps, on board as well.

Of course, it could just be that Mitchell’s dad is a Rangers fan and she is showing her support for her team.

How much money is behind the Rangers takeover bid?

The 49ers Enterprises group will be looking to secure 29.9% of Rangers off their own back to avoid any conflict with their ownership in Leeds

Andrew Cavenagh was named as another major invester, a health insurance tycoon who will help to push the overall shareholding above the 51% required to take control of the club.

Serious business people with serious money behind them.

In short, an approximate £11bn between the 49ers and Cavenagh’s ParetoHealth in terms of how much their respective businesses are valued at.

Shay Mitchell might be as wealthy as the two main players, if she is an investor, however, judging by the comments on social media, she would be every bit as welcome.
