Steven Davis joined Rangers on loan in January, but he needs to earn a contract in June.
So far, it’s hard to say that the Northern Irish legend has. At 34, Davis could pose a big risk going into next season so Gerrard could has a big decision to make in the summer.
Davis needs to step up and stand out. Against Hibs tomorrow night, the creative midfielder could well get his chance.

Against Aberdeen, Gerrard’s midfield three struggled to get a real firm grip in the game. Prior to that match, they were superb and it looked like they’d be hard to shift. Scott Arfield was also suffering from a knock going into that Aberdeen game but played.
As Gerrard perhaps looks to give him that rest now Davis could well be recalled. He might also want to keep Arfield fit for Tuesday night.
Davis, alongside Kamara and most likely Ross McCrorie, may well have the chance as a midfield trio. It’s an interesting potential combination and a lot of responsibility will be on Davis as a senior player, should they all play.

Rangers have outplayed Hibs in the last two matches between the two sides, albeit they both ended in a draw.
Hibs struggled against Celtic and if Rangers are at it they can earn three points here. If Davis is playing, he needs to be at it too.
It might well earn him a contract.
