Steven Gerrard has been very vocal in the last 24 hours concerning the future of Alfredo Morelos, commenting on everything from his importance to his price.
Reports from The Daily Record yesterday warned that Nice were preparing an £8m bid for Morelos. They see the Colombian as a replacement for Marseille bound Mario Balotelli. Gerrard bit back at a press conference saying Morelos isn’t for sale.
He also said Rangers haven’t received any offers.

The Rangers manager did however say all his players have a price. Even if he didn’t say what that price was.
But in an interview with The Times, Gerrard was a little bit more forthcoming with the financials concerning Morelos.

“I’ve been made aware that they are preparing an £8 million bid, but they are wasting their time,” said Gerrard. “An £8 million bid is disrespecting Alfredo first and foremost.
“He’s the top scorer in the league and there have been players who have gone for double that amount that don’t score as many goals as him.”

There you have it. Gerrard suggests the bidding for Morelos should start at £16m. Not that the Rangers Manager is in any rush to lose his star striker.
For many, if we lose Morelos we lose our shot at 55 this season. But with whom will the final decision lie?
“Dave King owns it so he’ll have the final say,” said Gerrard, not that he’s particularly worried. “We don’t want to sell. The board don’t won’t to sell.
“It’s nowhere near enough and the player isn’t for sale.”
