Rangers fans have heard the same lines from Philippe Clement and James Tavernier all season.
Lines from the manager about being disappointed or from the captain about the squad working harder and being determined to put things right have been a regular occurrence in a season of discontent.
The Europa League has provided some respite and, probably, Rangers’ best performances of the season, all of which is a similar story for Man Utd.

Harry Maguire expecting tough night against Rangers
Speaking to the press via MUTV, Harry Maguire is at a loss as to why his side currently sit in 13th place in the Premier League table, and that the visitors to Old Trafford won’t be making it easy for them:
“Players were frustrated after Brighton game but we didn’t perform on the day. We have to look at ourselves and take responsibility,” said the former Red Devils skipper.
“I go home and think how I can help this team improve. Us players need to take responsibility on ourselves.
“If I could explain our form I’d fix it. We’re just not playing well enough as a team. It’s on us as players – we can’t blame things and look for excuses any more.
“Rangers will be tough game, they’ll come here with great support and make it difficult for us but it’s about focusing on ourselves.”
How Rangers can take advantage of Man Utd’s woes
The last thing a team under pressure wants – and Rangers know this all too well – is for their opponents to make things uncomfortable for them.
Clement has seen teams like Hibs, Dundee, St Mirren and Motherwell all believe that they can take something off his team and have been aggressive from the first whistle.
Man Utd have lost four out of their last five games at Old Trafford, if Rangers can score an early goal and keep their danger man Amad Diallo quiet, their fans will grow impatient.
There is still an arrogance in the English game that looks down on Scottish football, the last thing that the 71,000 home fans will want is a team coming across the border and showing them up.
For Rangers, it is the perfect time to kick them when they are down.
