Philippe Clement has been in charge of Rangers for only a few days, but he has already been impressed with Cyriel Dessers.

Rangers got the better of Hibernian 4-0 at Ibrox in the Scottish Premiership this past weekend.

It was Philippe Clement’s first game in charge of Rangers.

Cyriel Dessers was one of the goalscorers for the Gers.

Dessers found the back of the net in the 79th minute.

The 28-year-old forward led the line for Rangers in a 4-2-3-1 formation.

Rangers manager Philippe Clement on Cyriel Dessers

Rangers manager Philippe Clement was impressed with Dessers and has praised his work-rate.

Clement told RangersReview about Dessers: “I talked with him about that (confidence) this week. It’s about doing hard work every day, repeating and repeating.

“Even if he didn’t score today, he still would have had a good game because he worked for the team.

“It’s the same with Sam (Lammers), they worked really hard for the team and because of that we can do good.”

Cyriel Dessers an important player for Rangers

In my opinion, Cyriel Dessers will play a big role for Rangers this season.

Dessers has made seven starts and one substitute appearance in the Scottish Premiership for Rangers so far this season.

The 28-year-old has scored two goals in those games.

The Nigeria international forward moved to Rangers in the summer transfer window.

Dessers is 28 now and is at the top of his game at the moment.

I believe that the Nigerian star will have to score the goals to help Rangers beat Celtic to the Scottish Premiership title this season.

Yes, Celtic are at the top of the table at the moment, but it is only October.

There is a lot of football to be played this season.

I think that Rangers can catch Celtic and eventually overtake them in the Scottish Premiership title race.

Celtic are at the top of the league table at the moment with 25 points from nine matches.

Rangers are second with 18 points from nine games.

The Gers will face Sparta Prague away from home in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday evening before facing Heart of Midlothian at Ibrox in the Scottish Premiership next weekend.
