Hamza Igamane has come to life at Rangers over the last month or so.

When signed, the Moroccan was billed as someone who had huge potential but who would take time to settle in.

That’s how it worked out as Igamane failed to even make squads for the first three league games and then gradually began to be bled in with appearances from the bench.

At the start of November, Philippe Clement began to hand him starts and was instantly rewarded with a double and a brilliant all-round display against Nice in the Europa League.

Goals against Kilmarnock, Ross County and Tottenham followed before the weekend’s precious double against Motherwell.

The 22-year-old and Danilo now look to be the main strikers at the club, ahead of Cyriel Dessers who could complete a transfer exit in January.

Igamane proved his worth when he was rested vs Motherwell but came on to have a massive impact in the second half.

And it seems his value is now being spotted outwith Ibrox too.

Igamane to get Morocco call

It is now being reported, as per the Daily Record, that Igamane is poised for his first senior international call thanks to his Rangers form.

Manager Walid Regragui is said to have been impressed by his recent form and is set to include him in his next squad, for World Cup qualifying games against Niger and Tanzania.

The World Cup semi-finalists sent assistant manager Abdel Bouhazama to Scotland recently to run the rule over Igamane and he liked what he saw.

Reports in Morocco are now suggesting he and young Espanyol full back Omar El Hilali will be called up.

Igamane has six caps for his nation’s under-23s side, scoring two goals.

Igamane Rangers transfer exit latest

It is not just his national team taking notice of his stunning performances.

Igamane is reportedly being monitored by at least four Premier League clubs – with West Ham United, Bournemouth, Brentford and Fulham initially named as English teams who were keeping tabs.

On top of that, Everton then sent scouts to watch him score against Tottenham at Ibrox.

Rangers are unlikely to be too keen to sell after just half a season but at the same time, a good fee would represent excellent player trading which has been a rarity in recent years.

That’s certainly how Barry Ferguson feels but the former Rangers captain would still like to see Igamane stick around.
