In an interview with RangersTV, Steven Gerrard has hinted that he could briefly don a Rangers jersey at Ibrox next weekend.

Following Sunday afternoon’s mauling of Hamilton, the Gers manager was interviewed for his post-match thoughts.

After the game was covered, though, he was asked how he was feeling ahead of next weekend’s exhibition match.

Taking advantage of the international break, a Rangers Legends side are taking on Liverpool Legends in a glamour tie on Saturday 12th October.

The Gers boss has already been confirmed as the captain of the Reds side. Yet, he’s now hinted that a few minutes in Light Blue could also be on the cards.

Gerrard hints at Rangers appearance

“I always look forward to a game of football, that’s never left me,” a smiling Gerrard told RangersTV. “I’m going to have to loosen my hips off and loosen my knees and my ankles – I’ve seized up because I haven’t played for so long.”

“But yeah, I’m going to play for Liverpool against Rangers and give it my all. Then, who knows, there might be a little cameo in a blue shirt as well, we’ll have to wait and see.”

Verdict

As soon as Gerrard’s participation in the match was confirmed, Bears were baying to see the manager don the famous Rangers colours.

Judging by these comments, it sounds like they’re going to get their wish. What a buzz that would be if Stevie G could bang one in for the Gers at Ibrox.

If tickets weren’t already selling fast for this one, they will be now!
