Rangers star Joe Aribo was one of the most improved players in the Ibrox squad this season as the Nigerian international took a considerable step in his development.

Adored by manager Steven Gerrard, Joe’s close control, variety of skills and creative play has been a joy to watch at times as he grows into his role at Rangers and begins to impose himself on games.

The silky midfielder’s return of eight goals and seven assists this season in 42 games isn’t shabby but improving on his numbers will be key going forward.

You get the feeling that next season – Aribo’s third at Ibrox – will be the biggest and most important one in his development yet as the club eyes Champions League football.

But according to a report coming out of Turkey, one of the nation’s biggest clubs and a familiar Euro rival of Rangers’ are interested in signing the ex-Charlton star.

Galatasaray came to Ibrox last year in the Europa League qualifiers and were dispatched by a Rangers side experienced in navigating the tournament’s preliminary rounds.

The Gers would defeat the Turks 2-1 on the night and earn a place in the competition and Steven Gerrard infamously had a run-in with Gala boss Fatih Terim on the touchline.

Joe Aribo, 24, didn’t play in that game but his performances for Rangers this season have reportedly caught the eye of the Galatasaray and Terim.

According to Sporx, Galatasaray are scouting Aribo and believe the player is currently valued at around £3m (€3.5m) even if they acknowledge a higher amount would be expected.

Aribo joined Rangers last season – much to the dismay of then Charlton boss Lee Bowyer – and has another two years to run on his contract at Ibrox.

Our number 17 isn’t the only one being linked with a move out of Ibrox this summer with one club securing a cash boost ahead of their reported interest in an in-demand Gers star.
