Rangers striker Jermain Defoe will be the fourth player at the club to suffer a calf knock since the Ibrox side returned from their Dubai warm weather training camp.
The veteran striker went down in the second half after chasing down a ball over-the-top of the Ross County defence and was eventually stretchered off.
Steven Gerrard admitted that the situation may well force Rangers’ hand in the transfer market [Rangers], but the fact it’s yet another calf problem will raise a few eyebrows.

The likes of the Daily Record and BBC Scotland are reporting the issue as a calf problem.
Defoe’s injury only comes after he started Rangers’ 2-0 win over Ross County because Alfredo Morelos was said to have a calf problem before the game [Rangers].
Ryan Jack was of course substituted at half-time in the 2-1 defeat to Hearts at Tynecastle because of a calf problem. It is now set to keep him out for a fortnight [Daily Record].
On top of that, Greg Stewart has also been missing since the winter break with the Evening Express also attributing that to a calf problem.

The four players join James Tavernier (appendix) and Filip Helander (foot) on a frustratingly long Rangers injury list.
The fact that all four have picked up similar calf issues may well be a coincidence, but could it point to something from Rangers’ warm-weather camp in Dubai?
