Former Rangers forward Kyle Lafferty looks set for a quick return to the SPFL as Kilmarnock look set to resign the player just six months after he left the club following their relegation to the Championship after he was spotted at Rugby Park [DailyRecord].
Lafferty, who only recently left Cypriot club Anorthosis Famagusta following a mutual agreement, could soon be headlining Kilmarnock’s attack as they aim for a swift return to the Premiership.

Derek McInnes has already made a few signings during his brief tenure so far and signing the forward could be key in their promotion charge.
The 34-year-old was only at Famagusta for six months after rejecting a new contract at the Ayrshire side as his nomadic career looks set to continue.
Kyle Lafferty would be a solid signing for Kilmarnock
Lafferty is of course well known to the Ibrox faithful having played for the club between 2008 and 2012.
He polarised fans at times but there is no doubt about his clutch performances as his goals secured the side two league titles in a row. A strike at Easter Road in April 2010 secured title number 53 and a year later, a fantastic hat-trick against future employers Killie gave Walter Smith an excellent send-off.
With Kilmarnock sitting third in the Championship table, four points behind Arbroath, albeit with a game in hand, Lafferty could be the ideal signing.

Although this depends on what version of the player McInnes signs, if he remains fit and hungry to succeed, then we could well be seeing the side back in the Premiership next season.
