New England Revolution fans have raved about Matt Polster after the former Rangers player starred in a 2-0 MLS Cup playoff win over Philadelphia Union.
Polster joined the Gers in January 2019 and turned out 10 times for the club over the following 18 months.

The USA international was a backup full-back option at Ibrox and he impressed at times when given opportunities, but he moved on in the summer in search of regular playing time.
N.E Revolution agreed a deal worth a reported £400,000 for Polster [Daily Record] and he instantly became an important part of Bruce Arena’s side in his preferred defensive midfield role.
It hasn’t all been plain sailing for the 27-year-old, who picked up a red card and a head injury within months of joining his new club, but fans have often been impressed by his performances and he starred once again on Tuesday night.
Polster played the full 90 minutes in midfield as the Revs won away at Philadelphia Union courtesy of first-half goals from Adam Buska and Tajon Buchanan.

The former Ger brings a physical presence to his team’s midfield and supporters were impressed by how he disrupted a Union side who finished top of the Eastern Conference table.
“We’ve dropped points all year to them and I think we were a bit sick and tired of it,” he said after the game [NE Revolution]. “We were close in all of those games and we finally stepped up and matched their intensity.”
“Credit to all the boys that came in and were here and stepped up to get us the win – that’s what it takes.”
The Revs have progressed to the semi-final stages and will take on Orlando City in Florida on Sunday.
