Former Rangers goalkeeper Jak Alnwick was sent off for the first time in his senior career on Tuesday night as St Mirren lost 2-1 to Hibernian in the Premiership.
Alnwick joined the Gers in 2017 and made 11 appearances for the club before being released in June 2020.

He was quickly snapped up by the Buddies and has excelled since his move to Paisley, keeping seven clean sheets in the league so far this season.
Alnwick spoke of his joy at helping Jim Goodwin’s side to a shock win at Parkhead on Saturday [Glasgow Times] but his outing against Hibs a few days later did not go to plan.
The 27-year-old had never previously been sent off in senior football, but he was dismissed by referee Alan Muir nine minutes before half-time.
A slack back pass from Jake Doyle Hayes forced the keeper to rush out of his area but a slight hesitation proved costly as Martin Boyle got to the ball first.
Alnwick then scythed down his opponent and as the last man, it was a clear red card offence.

Hibs went on to make the extra man count in the second half with goals from Ryan Porteous and Boyle and although Jon Obika pulled one back in the 74th minute, the visitors took the points back to Edinburgh.
“We have a goalkeeper who’s very comfortable with the ball at his feet but it was a poor pass back from Jake and he accepts that,” said St Mirren boss Goodwin after the game [Sky Sports].
“Jak came initially and then stopped and then came again. Sometimes these decisions are made and there’s not a great deal you can do about it.”
Alnwick now faces a suspension which will bring a run of 16 consecutive Premiership starts to an end.
Another former Rangers player is currently thriving elsewhere and lit up a Ligue 1 fixture at the weekend.
