A former Rangers player, who will have been forgotten by the fanbase, is set to feature at the FIFA World Cup 2026.
All 48 countries will be making official announcements in the coming days about their squads for the tournament.
Belgium recently confirmed Nicolas Raskin’s inclusion, while Findlay Curtis also got the nod from Scotland and will be travelling to North America.
How long will Danny Rohl be at Rangers?
Andrew Cavenagh has confirmed he will not be sacked ahead of the new season…
Juninho Bacuna named in Curacao World Cup squad
Curacao announced on 18 May that Juninho Bacuna has been named in their World Cup squad.
The midfielder, who left Rangers in 2022, excelled at English side Birmingham City for two seasons, where he ensured that he was a regular pick for his national side.
In 2024, he earned himself a move to Saudi Pro League side Al-Wehda, and despite leaving them after a season, he continued to play regularly.
Bacuna is currently on Gaziantep’s books, but is out on loan at Eredivisie side Volendam, where he moved in the January transfer window.
He has played 13 league games in the Netherlands this year and also managed to provide two assists.

What went wrong for Bacuna at Rangers?
Bacuna joined in August 2021, but only after six months, he left Ibrox on a permanent basis to join Birmingham City.
Ross Wilson earmarked him as a top talent, which led to the club pursuing his services, but the midfielder failed to win over Giovanni van Bronckhorst.
Steven Gerrard was in charge when the Curacao international was signed and likely would have signed off on the deal.
Which area should Rangers prioritise on strengthening this summer? 🤔
Andrew Cavenagh has made some bold promises!
However, a falling out with his successor meant that it was curtains on his Rangers career.
Joe Aribo, Glen Kamara and Steven Davis were all ahead of Bacuna in the pecking order, restricting him to just 12 appearances in all competitions.
The midfielder also had a number of hot-and-cold moments in games as he used to start promisingly, but then make silly errors that would frustrate the manager and the fans.
He did not have that ability to turn things around when the chips are down, and eventually everyone agreed that he is not suited for the Gers.
