Former Rangers striker Kris Boyd has named five Ibrox stars in his Scottish Premiership Team of the Week.
The Gers are fresh from a 5-0 mauling of northeast rivals Aberdeen and Boyd was that impressed with the result and performance that the Ibrox side dominates his XI.
James Tavernier, Scott Arfield, Steven Davis, Greg Stewart and Alfredo Morelos are the five Gers who make the cut.
It’s a testament to the standard of performance that Rangers put in on Saturday afternoon that Boyd has seen fit to dominate his weekly line-up with Ibrox stars.
The Team of the Week is normally very balanced but there’s little doubting that Rangers’ performance was THE performance of the weekend.
Rangers wiped the floor with Aberdeen with the Dons lucky it was kept to a respectable five on the day.
James Tavernier opened the scoring from the spot before Greg Stewart got his first Rangers goal, interestingly against his former side.
An Alfredo Morelos header, another James Tavernier penalty and a deft Jermain Defoe chipped finish completed the scoring in a rampant second half.
There can be little argument over Boyd’s Team of the Week with the entire Rangers side doing the club justice against a team we struggled with last season.
