Discussions continue over the future of Rangers youngster Leon King with the Ibrox talent reportedly no closer to signing a new deal.
One of the most highly-rated talents at Rangers, King is set to turn professional when he turns 16 in January.
The likes of Manchester United, Man City and Spurs have most recently been credited with an interest [Twitter], whilst Chelsea, Liverpool and RB Leipzig [Scotsman] are also said to be tracking the youngster.
Reports suggested that Leon King had rejected a deal at Rangers which could potentially open the door to the vast amounts of reported interest down south.
Probably the biggest youth talent to come through the ranks at Ibrox since young Scottish midfielder Billy Gilmour, King is one of the most revered young talents in British football at the moment.
The youngster could look at 18-year-old Gilmour’s breakthrough into the Chelsea team this season as an example of why a move down south could suit him.
Gilmour has been given opportunities by Frank Lampard’s side and has been given first-team exposure by the Blues legend this season.
Rangers, however, offer a different pathway into the first team and there’s no doubt that King would have more opportunities to establish himself at Ibrox before moving on in the future.
This benefits everyone involved – King gains a foothold in men’s football whilst Rangers recoup a substantial transfer fee for his services.

As is it stands things remain up in the air with regards Leon’s future, but whatever decision the youngster and his family take it must be the best one for them.
Rangers youth blogger Spateston Bear praised the people around King whilst also pointing out that he appears “very happy at Rangers” [Twitter].
