FCSB owner Gigi Becali has claimed that “no-one” is set to leave the Romanian club as Rangers links to club captain Darius Olaru continue.
Rangers have been routinely linked to the box-to-box midfielder over the last few transfer windows and the name Darius Olaru popped up again in the January just passed.
But it is after the transfer window has closed that Rangers are said to have stepped up their interest, sending scouts to watch the player as the club look to get ahead of the summer window.
According to the latest reports, FCSB will demand around £5m (€6m) for Darius Olaru in the summer with the player contracted to the club until 2024.
But now Gigi Becali has poured cold water on the links by claiming “no-one is leaving” in a vague-ish sort of promise which – come the summer – is unlikely to be kept unless Darius Olaru signs a new FCSB contract.

This is also a bit of a reversal of what the FCSB owner – who is regularly involved with the media it seems – previously said with Becali claiming that they’d tried to punt Darius Olaru in January.
Back then, Gigi Becali admitted the club’s transfer value of Darius Olaru might’ve been a little too high and with Pro Sports claiming the valuation could reach €8m (£7m), that might also be the case in the summer.
If it is, then perhaps Gigi Becali’s prediction will come true and Darius Olaru will stay at the club, but due to the high demands, not because of any interest from Rangers or anyone else.
Out of contract in 18 months, FCSB have to be smart when it comes to Darius Olaru in the summer and if Rangers have genuinely targeted the midfielder then we suspect this is just the beginning of negotiations.
Meanwhile, it appears John Lundstram is catching a breather just in time for the clash with Celtic.
