It’s fair to say that Bluenoses have quickly developed an affinity for the new Rangers Manager.
Steven Gerrard might have stumbled at times – although it may well have been greatly exaggerated – but he’s a very popular figure amongst the Rangers fans.
Now Gerrard is at the helm, it’s also hard to imagine anyone else in his place.
Like the man himself, Rangers fans will also be quietly satisfied about the first few months of his tenure.
But it’s what he had to say at the club’s AGM this morning which has fans talking tonight.
Fans delighted with comments of Rangers Manager
Speaking at the club’s AGM, Steven Gerrard stole the show with an inspirational speech about taking on the role. The Rangers Manager is clearly committed to and passionate about the job in Glasgow.
And whilst he acknowledges the positive steps taken so far, Gerrard also highlighted that the support he gets from the backroom staff is all important to any success.
Gerrard said: “I’d like to take the opportunity to thank Dave for the support he has given me. I’d like to thank Mark (Allen) and Stewart (Robertson) with whom I work on a daily basis.
“Without their support and back up we wouldn’t have been able to achieve what we have so far this season. I can assure we will continue to give everything to move the club forward and attract the best players to this incredible club.
“I am in a blessed position to be manager and hopefully I can stay here for a very long time. Thank you for the support I have received from the fans, the board and my own backroom team.”
And the Rangers Manager’s comments has fans absolutely buzzing.

Whilst there have been times a few fans have thrown the baby out of the bath water in the face of bad results, there are few who aren’t happy Gerrard is leading the side.
A born winner and an enthusiastic leader, Gerrard is also committed to Rangers.
And given where we were a year ago, no wonder fans are happy about it.
