Richard Foster joins Motherwell coaching set-up

It’s an interesting time at Fir Park, and in Scottish football, with the top flight in particular seeing some big changes in recent weeks with the likes of Aberdeen, Dundee United and Motherwell all changing managerial direction.

Richard Foster is also going into only his second non-playing role after a short spell in as assistant manager with USL Championship side Detroit City for the 2022 season.

Rangers initially signed Richard Foster on loan from Aberdeen in 2010, the full-back coming through at Pittodrie, with a second spell at the club during the challenging years in the lower tier memorable for the wrong reasons.

Also turning out for Bristol City, Ross County, St Johnstone, Partick Thistle and Detroit City, Foster is a controversial figure in Rangers circles due to his punditry.

The right-back will now be hoping to impress in the backroom of Motherwell as they look to salvage their season by appointing a third manager of the campaign.

Meanwhile, Ryan Jack has been linked with a surprise exit.
