Rangers star Ryan Jack is reportedly attracting interest from the Bundesliga as his contract ticks down at Ibrox.

According to Football Insider, clubs in Germany have made contact over the influential Scotland international midfielder who left a lasting impression following last year’s Europa League run.

The interest certainly comes as a surprise but the report does claim that Ryan Jack is keen on staying at Rangers despite these links out of the club.

The futures of several Rangers stars are currently up for debate with the Ibrox support unhappy with a lack of fresh energy in the squad and issues surrounding injuries.

Rangers have stuck by the same core of this squad for the last five seasons or so and it has failed to consistently pay off with the end surely nigh for several of the club’s players.

Rangers face Ryan Jack contract dilemma

There is however a major debate to be had about 31-year-old midfielder Ryan Jack, who remains one of the most senior players in the squad.

But unfortunately for Rangers fans, in a story we’ve heard far too often recently, the midfielder is routinely sidelined with injury and has not had enough impact on the side in recent seasons.

It presents the club with a genuine dilemma as clubs from the Bundesliga reportedly tail Ryan Jack, with Rangers fans demanding an evolution of the squad in the summer.

If Jacko was to leave Ibrox, the club would not only be losing a good if not routinely unavailable first-team player, but they’d also be losing a key leader in the squad.

It’s a decision which will have to be made with the best interests of Rangers in mind, as a support starved of regular success demand the club get it right this time around.

Meanwhile, James Sands’ departure is an admission of Ibrox failure.
