Former Rangers attacker Josh Windass has sent a Tweet to ex-Gers skipper Lee Wallace as the two clashed in the English Championship.

Windass, 26, was facing off against Wallace whilst turning out for Sheffield Wednesday as the Owls drew 1-1 with Mark Warburton led QPR.

Ex-Rangers captain Wallace, 33, now turns out in the English second tier and Windass took to Twitter to celebrate running into his old skipper down south.

Windass moved to Sheffield Wednesday from Wigan Athletic this summer after an initial loan spell at Hillsborough last season.

Attacker Windass joined the Latics from Rangers in a reported £2m [Scotsman] in 2018 after Steven Gerrard took charge at Ibrox, going on to make over 50 Championship appearances for the club.

His summer move to Sheffield Wednesday reportedly earned Rangers £450k, the outstanding amount due to the Ibrox club from cash-strapped Wigan.

Son of former Aberdeen striker Dean, Windass joined Rangers when his contract at Accrington Stanley expired in 2016 and would go on to 19 goals in two seasons with the club.

Legendary former Rangers captain Wallace famously helped drag the club up through the lower divisions of Scottish football after the Gers relegation in 2012.

The left-back exited the club after his contract expired last season, joining up with ex-Rangers boss Mark Warburton with QPR shortly after.
