Former Rangers midfielder and now Celtic midfielder Liam Burt has said he is “back home” after his move from Ibrox to Celtic Park.
The former Gers Academy prospect was released in May and eventually went on to sign a two-year deal at Celtic.
But after spending close to five years with the Ibrox club, his comments will stick in the craw of the club who gave him a first-team opportunity.
Granted, Burt was released by Rangers after he was deemed surplus to requirements by the club’s academy staff.
If anything, the fact he has moved on to Celtic should pose little threat to Rangers as he looks to make the grade at his boyhood club.
But any notion Rangers fans will be wishing him all the best in his new venture was ultimately dispelled by the social media post.
That’s if it wasn’t already by the 20-year-old midfielder uploading a video to his Instagram account approaching the gates of Celtic’s Lennoxtown training facility.
Interestingly, however, Liam Burt was originally released by the Celtic Academy before joining Rangers.
But Burt would go on to have two unconvincing loan spells in the Scottish Championship with Dumbarton and Alloa Athletic.
Now, he begins a new chapter at Celtic. Could letting him go come back to haunt Rangers in the future?
