Former Rangers director of communications David Graham has taken up a general manager role at Northern Irish champions Linfield.
The ex-Ibrox media head will replace the outgoing Pat Fenlon at the Belfast club, with David Graham having left Rangers in October last year.
Fenlon will now take up a director of football role at League of Ireland side Bohemians, whom he has previously managed.
This comes after four years with the Northern Irish side and Linfield paid tribute to Pat Fenlon as they welcomed David Graham into his new role at the club.
The idea is that the former Rangers director comes in where Fenlon left off, with the former Hibs star previously tasked with formulating a “five-year plan” about how to grow Linfield as a full-time outfit on and off the park.
Ex-Rangers man David Graham delighted to take up Linfield role
Linfield chairman Roy McGivern claimed “there will always be a welcome” for Pat Fenlon at Windsor Park whilst describing David Graham as “an excellent replacement”.
McGivern even pointed to Graham’s time with Rangers with the former Ibrox comms guru expressing his delight at taking up the role.
“I am delighted to be appointed General Manager of Linfield FC,” said David Graham [Linfield FC].
“Linfield is a club that I’ve supported all my life and it is a privilege to join the club in a leadership capacity. Pat and the Board of Directors have set a very high bar and as an ambitious club, we must continue to progress each season.”
“Throughout our recent conversations, it was clear that the Board and I are very much aligned in our ambition for Linfield, as we approach our 140th anniversary. I look forward to engaging with our supporters and club partners, so we can continue to drive Linfield forward together.”
Ex-DUP councillor David Graham spent over two years working in the communications of Rangers, with the lifelong bluenose being initially appointed in a non-director role in March 2020.
Meanwhile, could Rangers finally be set to replace Nathan Patterson at Ibrox?
