Rangers are reportedly interested in signing Anderlecht right-back Noah Sadiki but face stiff competition from the likes of Ligue 1 Lille and Dutch outfit PSV Eindhoven.

At least that’s according to Juenes Footeux, who claim that all three sides are interested in a pre-contract switch for the 18-year-old as his current deal ticks down in Belgium.

A Belgian youth international, Noah Sadiki is already well established in the Anderlecht set-up and the links will turn heads at Rangers as the Gers look for yet another bargain deal.

The Ibrox side have regularly exploited pre-contract deals to help bolster the squad but it appears that they will face stiff competition if they want to do the same with Noah Sadiki.

Could Noah Sadiki replace Nathan Patterson?

Any move for Noah Sadiki could also see Rangers finally replace outgoing right-back Nathan Patterson, who completed a £16m switch to Premier League Everton last season.

Scotland international right-back Patterson moved to the Premier League after breaking through at Ibrox with the Gers failing to properly replace the kid’s influence ever since.

A move for Polish youth international right-back Matuesz Zukowski failed to deliver, with the right-back now back in his homeland on loan at Lech Poznan.

Young Rangers right-back Adam Devine has impressed but at the moment is struggling to dislodge Ibrox captain James Tavernier, with the kid mostly employed at left-back amid high-profile absences.

It all points to Noah Sadiki being a potential Patterson replacement who can come in and try to challenge Rangers skipper Tavernier at right-back and push the Ibrox hero on.

Rangers fans have at times complained regarding a downturn in form from Tav, who is said to have been carrying an injury at various points this season.

Belgium is a country that Rangers have signed from extensively in recent seasons too, with Noah Sadiki joining Kemar Roofe (Anderlecht), Ianis Hagi (Genk) and Fashion Sakala (Oostende) in playing in the European nation.

Noah Sadiki has made 17 appearances for the Anderlecht first-team, including 16 this season.

Rangers have also been linked with a switch for a form attacker plying his trade down south.
