Rangers winger Jordan Jones is a transfer target of ex-Ibrox boss Mark Warburton at QPR, according to TEAMtalk.

The Northern Ireland international was sent home from national duty during the break with a “knock” raising questions over his next move with the Ibrox exit door beckoning.

But former Gers man Warburton has reportedly opened the door at Loftus Road for a move for the former Kilmarnock wide man as Bright Osayi-Samuel prepares to leave QPR.

The TEAMtalk report claims that Osayi-Samuel, 22, could be set for a permanent move to Premier League Crystal Palace with his contract set to expire in 12 months’ time.

The report claims that the talented winger has rejected QPR’s offers of a new deal and could follow former teammate Eberechi Eze across London to Selhurst Park.

As a result, Warburton is said to be lining up Rangers winger Jones, 25, as a potential replacement for Osayi-Samuel.

The news also comes after Northern Ireland boss Ian Baraclough claimed that Steven Gerrard has told Jones he is free to leave Rangers this summer.

“Jordan is an exciting talent and he wants to play football and regular games to give himself the best chance of performing on the international stage,” said Baraclough [Daily Record].

“He is talented but at this moment in time Rangers is a competitive squad and Steven Gerrard has spoken to him and said he can find a new club if that comes up.

“Hopefully that can be sorted pretty soon and hopefully he can get settled into a new club, new surroundings and then he can go and perform for us like we think he can.

“We have real exciting, young players with pace and an eye for goal and Jordan is one of those.”

Jones joined Rangers on a pre-contract deal from Kilmarnock last season but has been limited to 15 appearances for the Ibrox club.
