Rangers will face competition from Blackburn Rovers for ex-Atletico Madrid youth Carlos Mendes Gomes, according to a report down south.
The Scottish Sun had claimed last week that Rangers were tailing the 12-goal Morecambe winger who has been lighting up English League Two this season.

The Gers were said to have made contact with the Shrimps regarding the 22-year-old wide player who was born in Dakar, Senegal, and raised in Spain where he spent time with Atleti as a youth.
The forward moved to England as a teenager and played non-league football for North West Counties outfit West Didsbury and Chorlton.
Gomes was picked up by Morecambe in 2018 and since then, has racked up 82 appearances, although all but two of his goals have come this season.
However, The Sunday Mirror (11/04, p68) reported over the weekend that should the Gers be interested they will face competition from Championship Blackburn Rovers.
According to that report, Blackburn are one of a number of Championship clubs tracking the player with a view to a summer move.
Rangers obviously boast the lure of trophies and European football whilst former Premier League winners Blackburn have toiled to get back to former glories.

Carlos Mendes Gomes is one of a number of players already being linked to Ibrox ahead of next season and what promises to be a busy summer in Glasgow.
One Ibrox-linked Premier League winger continued his fine form with a goal at the weekend as his current side look to tie him down on a new deal.
