Steven Gerrard has hinted that the “exciting” Eros Grezda will make his Rangers debut against Dundee.
The Albanian was sent home from international duty as he recovered from an ankle knock and Gerrard has said he is “70-90%” ready for a return to full action. He also acknowledged that part of getting that extra 10-30 is by playing matches.
“A top player and a very exciting player”
Gerrard was full of praise for the attacking winger and is clearly buoyed by the signing.
He is eager for the six-times-capped winger to be involved and told fans what to expect. Gerrard said:
“He might be involved tomorrow, but we will make that decision in the next couple hours.
“First and foremost, we are delighted to have him as he is a top player and a very exciting player.
“He carries pace, a lot of ability and I am sure fans will love him when he is up to speed.”
Patience required by fans for this exciting signing
This is a glowing report from Gerrard and he clearly worked hard to bring Eros Grezda to the club. He’s also clearly delighted he got his man.
But despite bumping him up it is important Rangers fans temper expectations in the very short term. The dazzling winger has only just returned to action, and it will take time, and match action, for him to reach the top of his game.
“He had surgery on June 6 so we are still trying to progress that, move him forward and also his match fitness,” explains Gerrard.
Rangers fans will be hoping to grab a first glimpse of an attacker who’s been rated at £20m in tomorrow’s match with Dundee.
