After signing from NK Osijek over the summer, is new-boy Eros Grezda worth £20million?

According to Albanian journalist Ermal Kuka, he may very well be in the near future.

Kuka has been a close follower of Grezda’s career, and sees big things in his future. As of yet, he’s the best real insight supporters have received about what to expect from their new winger.

Steven Gerrard made Grezda his second signing from Osijek after the arrival of Borna Barisic earlier this summer. Yet, did the Ibrox club manage to get their man on the cheap? Kuka seems to think so.

Speaking to the Evening Times in an extensive interview, Kuka believes Rangers’ newest recruit is worth a fortune.

Rangers have got an absolute bargain. I was surprised they were able to get him for such a low price. I think that is a real steal. In two years, I can easily see them selling him for £20million, because it is different when you buy from Croatia or you buy from a club like Rangers. I think he is going to be a future star of the national team. Technically, he is a great player. Teams of Rangers’ level everywhere in Europe would have been looking at him, because his potential is huge.

Exciting Soundbites

There are plenty of soundbites to get Rangers fans excited about their new-man. It feels like changed days at the club as the likes of Conor Goldson and now Grezda are being talked about in the millions bracket.

Gers fans haven’t been able to see their new-man as of yet. When Rangers faced Osijek in the Europa League, Grezda had to sit out through injury. It’s looking likely he’ll be ready to kick-start his Rangers career however when he returns.

The signing could spell bad news for Daniel Candeias, who’s game-time will surely now be limited. With the potential worth of Grezda, Rangers can’t afford not to develop that.

Already, it appears that tapping into these new European markets is proving fruitful for Steven Gerrard and his side. With the impressive early performances of Barisic, and now Grezda being talked up – the potential is clearly there.

Kuka also explains how the new-man is good on one-vs-one situations. How Rangers have longed for someone efficient in this area. Too often, Gers wingers haven’t taken their full-backs on, and it’ll therefore be interesting to see if Grezda can break the mould in that respect.

Another area touched upon was the injuries Grezda has had. In the final stages of recovery from a recent one, the new-man hopefully won’t continuously suffer from niggling knocks. Kuka explained how he’s suffered from these in the past, and supporters will be praying the Albanian isn’t injury-prone.

For now, fans can be excited with the soundbites, and look forward to seeing Grezda in the flesh for the first time.
