As Rangers took to the pitch against Motherwell at the weekend, there is one summer signing who can count himself unlucky not to make it into the starting XI.
Swiss striker and £2.7m man Cedric Itten would eventually come off the bench to rescue a 1-1 draw for Rangers as the forward’s explosive record against the Steelmen continued.
Itten has now scored four against Motherwell this season – that’s every single one of his Scottish Premiership goals – averaging a goal every 20 or so minutes against the Fir Park side.
It’s an impressive record yet Gers boss Steven Gerrard didn’t see fit to start the ex-FC St. Gallen forward.
It’s a decision which may well have altered the outcome of the match, Rangers way too pedestrian in the first-half and needing to play catch-up in the second.
But what Rangers have lacked in recent weeks in terms of effort and enthusiasm, the likeable Cedric Itten has in spades.
Every time the striker comes off the bench he puts in an honest shift and there’s a growing argument that whilst some toil, perhaps it’s time to give the forward an opportunity.
With Kemar Roofe to come back into the side and Rangers spoiled for choice across the front three, there’s probably no better opportunity for Cedric to stake his claim than against Ross County.

The big forward has proven that he knows where the back of the net is, perhaps it’s time for the management team to prove that they back him to do so from the first whistle.
With Itten coming off the bench to rescue a draw for Rangers against Motherwell, here’s how the Rangers support reacted to his performance on Sunday afternoon.
