Rangers fans have reacted to a remarkable stat which shows just how potent Cedric Itten has been against Motherwell.
Itten signed for the Gers from St Gallen in August 2020 for a reported fee of £2.7m [Sky Sports].
The transfer followed a career-best return of 19 Swiss Super League strikes for the forward in the previous season as he finished runner-up to golden boot winner Jean-Pierre Nsame.
His playing time has been much more restricted since his arrival at Ibrox, with Alfredo Morelos, Kemar Roofe and Jermain Defoe providing stiff competition for places.
However, he has managed to find the net five times in all competitions.
Remarkably, four of those have come against Motherwell. He scored his first Rangers goals in a 5-1 win at Fir Park in September, netted Rangers’ crucial second in a 3-1 comeback win over the Steelmen at Ibrox in December and rescued a point for his side on the road on Sunday.
In all three games, Itten failed to make the starting XI and instead, made his impact off the bench.
The official Rangers Twitter account tweeted images of all four of his goals on Monday afternoon, along with a caption that confirmed the 24-year-old is averaging a goal every 19 minutes against ‘Well.
The tweet was well received by supporters, many of whom are calling for him to be given more starting opportunities going forward.
Here’s a selection of reactions:
