Steven Gerrard wasn’t saying much when asked about the future of expensive flop Carlos Pena in a press conference today.
Looking forward to tomorrow’s match with Kilmarnock, the Ibrox gaffer didn’t much care for questions on the Mexican’s future.
When asked if Pena has rejoined the squad, Gerrard simply said “no”.

The Rangers Manager was then asked if Pena was likely to be back in the squad, to which Gerrard shook his head. When asked if there was any transfer news about the midfielder, Gerrard said he didn’t know.
The Rangers Manager certainly didn’t seem amused by the whole thing. That’s probably because Carlos Pena is costing the club a reported £26k per week in wages and proving a dead weight on the wage bill.

Gerrard described it as a “huge frustration” back in December.
Rangers managed to ship fellow expensive flop Eduardo Herrera back to Mexico.
The striker has since been reigniting his career in his homeland.

But Pena remains on the books at Ibrox. Reports earlier in the window suggested he was interesting a trio of Turkish sides.

Yet, there appears to be no concrete interest for the attacking midfielder. The club will be hoping there is soon.
Securing the final deals of Rangers transfer window might depend on it.
