Rangers most high-profile transfer interest of the summer in Ryan Kent hasn’t ended the way the club wanted [Rangers], but Steven Gerrard remains in an optimistic mood.
That’s despite the Rangers manager saying he’d wait until the very “last second” of the window to sign a player he clearly admires.
The Liverpool legend also suggested that Rangers could re-enter the transfer market to source a replacement, but do we really have to?

As it stands, Rangers have lost Ryan Kent and Daniel Candeias in the transfer window.
In replacement, the club has signed Sheyi Ojo and Jordan Jones.
Jake Hastie and Greg Stewart offer strength-in-depth but you get the feeling Liverpool loanee Ojo and former Killie winger Jones will get the nod ahead of them.
Scott Arfield, who can play just off the striker, will also probably now start on that left-hand side.
But for me, we still need another player in these wide positions if we’re to challenge this season. Kent really felt like the final piece of the puzzle.
A mixture of fitness, form and a lack of experience dictates that we need someone who offers something different in those wide areas.
This is something you have got to imagine Steven Gerrard is aware of going into the final month of the window.

It’s something he’s eluded to, if even only through his interest in Liverpool winger Kent.
So, if the question is do we really need to re-enter the market for another forward/wide-player, then the answer is clear.
Yes, I believe we do.
