As Rangers romped to a comfortable 3-0 victory against Motherwell, Steven Gerrard took a seat in the Fir Park stands alongside Technical Director Mark Allen.
And whilst Gerrard would’ve been pleased to see his recent tactical switch pay off again, his company in the stands might also suggest he was making the most of his touchline suspension.
The focus would’ve been on Rangers. The team played some superb stuff and Gerrard would’ve been pleased with the performance.

But then the Evening Times claimed the move was officially off the table. Nothing’s decided till Hastie decides his own future, and the Rangers duo might’ve been taking a closer look.
Whilst he didn’t play magnificently, it was a solid enough showing from the youngster. His tame effort at Allan McGregor was one of Motherwell’s only real openings. But by the sounds of things Rangers aren’t interested in wasting any more time dallying over a deal.

The other player Rangers have been rumoured with is midfielder David Turnbull. Four Lads Had a Dream included him in a list of players rumoured to be linked with the club.

It’s not hard to see why. He’s confident on the ball, can score goals, and he’s still only 19. He might’ve been caught out for Arfield’s second but he did put in a decent enough showing.
Rangers were just too strong and industrious in the middle of the pitch for the youngster. That said, Turnbull did manage to get a nutmeg in on James Tavernier.
Are Rangers still considering either player? That remains to be seen. But Gerrard and Allen might well have had one eye on the performances of these two young talents.
