Rangers academy graduate and former Ibrox star Charlie Adam isn’t the most popular man amongst the Rangers fans, despite starting his career with the Glasgow club.
Comments Adam made in the aftermath of the club’s administration back in 2012 have left a salty taste in the mouth of some supporters.
When asked about the situation back then, Adam said he was “not interested” in what was happening at the club.

But Adam – perhaps going back on his words from 2012 in hindsight – has said that leaving Rangers left him heartbroken.
“People believe that once you leave Rangers, you fall away. I didn’t want that,” said Adam [Daily Mail via Scottish Sun].
“I used that as my drive. I knew I had been at a big club. I wanted to get back to a big club.
“There was, though sadness amid the defiance.
“I told myself: ‘You ain’t going to play. You have to leave.’
“I knew to be in any way satisfied I had to play football.
“But it was a tough thing to go. It broke my heart.
“Yeah, it broke my heart. I sat and cried.”
Now, Adam continues to discuss the club on social media, with a suggestion he might’ve returned in the last few seasons [Daily Record].
On top of that, Adam returned to Ibrox as early as last month to play for the club in a Legends match against Liverpool.

For many fans, it appears that Adam has burned his bridges when it comes to Rangers, despite some iconic moments in the famous blue.
But did the way that Adam left Rangers have a bearing on those comments from 2012?
