Former Rangers manager Dick Advocaat is currently at the World Cup, where he is the head coach of Curacao.
Advocaat was in charge of the Light Blues from 1998 to 2001, achieving tremendous success at the helm.
He won two league titles with Rangers as well as being triumphant in the Scottish Cup and Scottish League Cup.
Who is the worst-ever Rangers manager? 🤔
We think it cannot be anyone else except Russell Martin!
Dick Advocaat is one of the few outsiders who has succeeded at Rangers
BBC journalist Thomas Duncan believes that Rangers have always liked to go back to somebody with a previous association with the club when they are appointing their manager.
That is because the candidate would then know what it takes to be in charge of the Light Blues and how demanding the fans can be.
In his view, Advocaat is the only manager with no past relation to the club who actually ended up being a success at Ibrox.
Which of these three managers would you prefer at Rangers?
We believe Derek McInnes is the right man for the job…
Duncan claims that in the event of Rohl’s departure, there could be a number of managerial candidates who have worked abroad who could end up being successful.
He wrote: “Plenty of Rangers fans will think narrowing options to Gerrard or McInnes, known candidates, is self-defeating.
“There could be lots of options out there who have worked abroad and had success, who Rangers should consider in the event Rohl does leave.
“While that is undoubtedly true, there is not a long list of so-called ‘outsiders’ to Rangers coming in and bringing the level of success which is demanded.
“Dick Advocaat would be one of the few.”

Will Steven Gerrard be open to an Ibrox return?
Rangers have begun their plans to replace Rohl should he decide to join RB Salzburg in the coming days.
A three-man shortlist has emerged, and Steven Gerrard once again continues to be linked with a return to Ibrox.
Will Steven Gerrard become the next Rangers manager?
Tam McManus believes Danny Rohl will be sacked…
The former Gers boss was considered by the American owners, but the deal fell through after it seemed to be a certainty at one stage.
As he is currently out of work and potentially ready for his next challenge, there is no reason why he would not relish the chance to return to Ibrox.
He is loved by the fans and has the track record to prove that he can rebuild teams and turn them into title winners.
