The Scottish Premiership and professional sport will NOT grind to a halt amid a second national lockdown as Nicola Sturgeon announced further restrictions with the Covid-19 pandemic spreading across the country.
During last year’s March lockdown professional sport was forced to stop as Rangers, football and society came to terms with an unprecedented situation with the virus.

That led to the now infamous end-of-season vote which awarded Celtic a title over Zoom in a decision which still rankles with much of the Gers support.
But as it stands there is no threat of this happening again with professional sport set to continue as the nation heads indoors for at least the month of January.
According to the Scottish Government’s exemption list “those involved in professional sports, for training, coaching or competing in an event” won’t need to remain in doors.
That means as it stands the Ibrox side will be able to protect the 19-point gap at the top of the Scottish Premiership as they look to secure a legendary 55th title.
Rangers are clear favourites to go on and secure a first league trophy in 10 years and should the club do so, they can be safe in the knowledge that the trophy was won on the park.

Rangers’ rampant form certainly has our Old Firm rivals worried as their dream of “10IAR” begins to slip from their grasp.
Some of the Celtic Park side’s fans have cheekily launched a tongue-in-cheek petition to have the season called as null and void due to the pandemic.
