The hunt for the next Rangers manager continues as the Gers continue to dot the i’s and cross the t’s on the impending US takeover.
Dave King admits the Rangers takeover still has a little more to go as the Gers look to establish a new era at Ibrox under 49ers Enterprises and Andrew Cavenagh.
But Rangers aren’t waiting around ahead of the new season with Kevin Thelwell appointed as sporting director and set to take the reins at the end of the season.
With Rangers also targeting several players in the transfer market, things will move quickly once the takeover is complete.
But with all eyes on who might become the next permanent Rangers manager, there have been a few twists in the tale over the weekend.

Rangers ‘pushing’ to sign Davide Ancelotti
Rangers are believed to be casting their net far and wide when it comes to their next managerial appointment.
With Philippe Clement the club’s fourth manager in as many years, the pressure is on at Ibrox to make sure the club’s next choice is the right one after Celtic zoomed away in front of the club’s long-held trophy record this season.
One surprise name who has been linked this week is Real Madrid coach Davide Ancelotti, who is the son of legendary Italian manager Carlo.
Davide has worked under Ancelotti in coaching roles at Bayern Munich, Napoli, Everton and Real Madrid and is reportedly a wanted man around Europe.
According to Italian journalist Gianluca DiMarzio Rangers are ‘pushing’ to sign the 35-year-old amid interest from Italian side Como, who are braced to potentially lose Cesc Fabregas this summer.
Steven Gerrard still in Rangers manager running?
The Davide Ancelotti reports come amid conflicting reports surrounding a potential Rangers return for Steven Gerrard.
Reports in the Rangers Review had suggested that Gerrard is not a managerial target for Rangers despite much chatter surrounding a potential return.
It had been claimed that Rangers were looking for a clean slate, new ideas, and specifically someone with no prior connection to the club, effectively ruling Gerrard out of the running.
But those claims have been refuted by the Telegraph, who claim that Steven Gerrard is a legitimate option under consideration by the Rangers board.
The report claims that Gerrard is one of four former Premier League bosses under consideration for the role alongside Gary O’Neil, Rob Edwards and Russell Martin.
