The hunt for the next Rangers manager goes on as the Ibrox support begin to get antsy and July’s Champions League qualifiers loom large.
Rangers have a sizeable job on their hands to get a new manager in the door, confirm a US buyout and rebuild a broken Rangers squad in time for the new season.
With the club tight-lipped over who the appointment might be, Real Madrid coach Davide Ancelotti is the clear Rangers manager frontrunner.
Now, one leading journalist claims that Ancelotti has set his sights on the Rangers gig with further talks expected between both parties this week.

Davide Ancelotti makes mind up on Rangers move
According to Rangers Review journalist Chris Jack, Davide Ancelotti has his heart set on a move to Rangers.
Rangers have insisted throughout the process that there are several candidates, whilst reports in Spain have increasingly backed Ancelotti to make the move.
Other options include former Rangers manager Steven Gerrard, Leicester City target Russell Martin and former Sparta Prague boss Brian Priske.
But speaking on the Rangers Review YouTube channel (26/05/25), Chris Jack claims that Ancelotti has made his mind up on a move to Rangers, with further talks imminent.
”On Ancelotti, there will be more discussions this week,” Jack said. “He’s keen on this job.
”He likes the project if you like. He is enthused by the chance to become a manager in his own right and he believes that Rangers is the club for him.
”The next couple of days will determine if he is the man for Rangers or not.”
Carlo Ancelotti confirms Davide in ‘negotiations’ with European club
The comments from Chris Jack come as Carlo Ancelotti confirmed his son Davide was in talks with ‘a European team’ about becoming manager.
Davide worked under Ancelotti Snr at Napoli, Bayern Munich, PSG, Everton and most recently Real Madrid, where they have just left at the end of this season.
Davide Ancelotti waved an emotional goodbye to Madrid after their final game of the campaign and the 35-year-old now looks set to step out on his own.
It comes with Carlo Ancelotti taking over the Brazilian national team, with his son a notable absentee as the legendary Italian manager heads to South America.
“Davide is currently in negotiations with a European team,” Carlo Ancelotti said at his unveiling as Brazil manager, as quoted by BBC Sport.
“I don’t think it’s right for him to come with me. If he goes to a club, I wish him the best. And if not, he can come back to us at any time.”
