David Healy has given Jordan Jones a big billing in an interview with the Scottish Herald.
Jones signed a pre-contract agreement with the Gers back in January and after seeing out his deal with Kilmarnock, is now ready to start contributing at Ibrox.

That’s a prospect Linfield manager, Healy, is excited about. He believes that if Jones switches on mentally, he could be a major hit in Glasgow.
“Jordan came into the Northern Ireland set-up after I’d stepped away but his performances with us have proved why Rangers signed him,” Healy told the Scottish Herald. “Jordan in full flow is as good as any wide player in Scotland and with his confidence fully restored he’s a danger.”

“It was a difficult six months for him after he announced he was going to Rangers. You can tell he’s been desperate to get to Rangers – I just hope he’s not caught in the headlights.
“I’m sure he’ll have spoken to the Northern Irish lads who have played for Rangers. One thing you have to do when you sign for Rangers – and I know from my own experience – you have to understand the culture of the football club and that more importantly the demands and expectations.
“I was interested to see Michael O’Neill’s comments that he won’t be one of the big glamour summer signings for Rangers but he could prove to be one of the best.”

Verdict

Healy is clearly a big fan of the winger, who is now an established part of the Northern Ireland team.
He’s pacy, direct and industrious and plenty of Rangers fans have been impressed by his pre-season exploits.
At 24, Jones is still far from the finished product. He can be guilty of profligacy in the final third and he will frustrate the Ibrox faithful at times. Yet, he’s an exciting addition to the squad and will keep many a right-back on their toes this season.
With Jamie Murphy not included in the initial Gers Europa League squad, Jones is likely to start against St Joseph’s on Thursday in what will be his first competitive appearance at Ibrox.
