It’s fair to say Daniel Candeias and the Rangers fans get on well with each other.
The Gers supporters love the fact that the Portuguese winger “gets it” as they all say. Yet, the love is clearly mutual after Candeias revealed the fans always leave him speechless.
A convincing win against Hearts yesterday meant that Rangers went to within five points of the Jambos. It was a huge result in the context of both side’s seasons. Unsurprisingly, Ibrox was packed to the rafters with supporters looking to urge the team on to victory.

Candeias spoke to Rangers’ official website after the game, and once again couldn’t stop thanking supporters for their support.
“I don’t have words for the feeling the fans give me, I don’t have words for this moment, it is fantastic.
“I’m very happy playing for these supporters and for Rangers. I think this is the best moment of my career.
“I enjoy all the games play at Ibrox, the atmosphere is fantastic and helps the players play like Thursday night and today. I’m very happy. The team is fantastic, the players are together all the time, it is a funny group to be part of and it is a happy team.”
A man who’s taken to the club
To define Candeias would be describing him as a man who’s taken strongly to his new club. Arriving at the start of last season, the Portuguese winger has experienced the good and the bad at Ibrox already.
It’s clear, however, that there’s a genuine love for the club inside Candeias. He doesn’t see Rangers as just another club in a money-making career. Instead, he sees them as part of his life and an aspect of it that he holds extremely dear.

Supporters love the enthusiasm of the Portuguese if not always hi squality on the field. The winger still has a tendancy to be wholly inconsistent, and with Eros Grezda waiting in the wings, his days in the side could be numbered.
As it stands, however, Candeias is in an extremely strong place. He’s putting in some good displays and contributing to many of the goals Rangers are scoring under Steven Gerrard.
Whether he has a long-term future in the side is still questionable. As it stands, however, Candeias remains a big part of the Rangers family, and the supporters love him for that alone.
