Another ex-Chelsea midfielder in Scott Parker is interested in becoming the new Rangers manager according to the latest reports.
Writing in the Daily Mail, Scottish football journalist Stephen McGowan claims that the former Fulham and Bournemouth has thrown “his hat in the ring” for the Ibrox gig.
The report claims that whilst fellow ex-Blues star Frank Lampard and Australian manager Kevin Muscat remain the favourites for the job, Scott Parker is a legitimate option.
An established former Premier League footballer who turned out for Charlton, Norwich, Chelsea, Newcastle, West Ham, Tottenham, Fulham and England, there’s sizeable playing pedigree here.
But as a manager Rangers fans might not be so enthused by the potential appointment of Scott Parker, with the former England star having a questionable track record.

Scott Parker links will fail to inspire Rangers fans
Having earned promotions with Fulham and Bournemouth to the Premier League, the 42-year-old has struggled in the English top flight and perhaps views Rangers as a chance to rebuild his reputation.
But it’s more Scott Parker’s stint with Club Brugge – a club that Rangers share a distinct European similarity with in terms of their ambitions from a smaller league – which will have fans looking the other way.
Appointed in December last year, Scott Parker was sacked after only 12 games and has been struggling for work ever since.
At this stage, anything is better than the dross Rangers fans are being served up but the future of the incumbent Ibrox board and management directorate will depend on getting this right.

The pressure is on the likes of James Bisgrove and John Bennett to make the right call for Rangers but at the moment they face something of a thankless task.
There is no outstanding new Rangers manager candidate and as Scott Parker makes himself available the former England star will do well to convince an increasingly disillusioned Gers support.
