The Czech Republic’s ambassador to the United Kingdom has demanded an apology from the SFA following a clash between Rangers and Sparta Prague.

Czech foreign minister Jakub Kulhanek is demanding the Scottish football authorities condemn criticism of Czech kids following the 1-0 Rangers defeat to Sparta Prague.

“Today, I asked the British Ambassador for an apology from the Scottish Football Association for statements comparing Czech children to rotten fruit,” reads a tweet from Kulhanek.

“I also reiterated our outrage at insults against Czech children and the Czech Republic. That’s not part of a good relationship.”

UEFA have lots to answer regarding disgraceful Czech and Sparta conduct v Rangers

The Gers were beaten 1-0 by Sparta in the UEFA Europa League during the week in front of a crowd of 10k schoolkids.

Sparta had reached an agreement with UEFA to allow minors into the ground for free after the governing body had enforced a stadium closure on the Czech club due to racism.

Sparta Prague fans had racially abused Monaco midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni during a Champions League qualifier at the beginning of the season.

However, despite the closure the kids who were allowed into the stadium booed every touch made by Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara.

Banners were also brought to the ground in support of Czech international defender Ondrej Kudela, who was banned for 10 games by UEFA for racially abusing Rangers star Kamara last season.

This is despite Kudela playing for Sparta’s fierce rivals Slavia.

Black Rangers players were targeted with booing throughout the match and this caught the attention of the Gers post-match who once again demanded action from UEFA.

The Ibrox side have written to the governing body demanding they explain their stance after exposing black players to racist abuse by allowing the stadium to have supporters.

However, in a tactic generally employed by both Prague clubs, the Czech government have doubled down and are now trying to flip the argument back onto Scottish football, completely ignoring the insidious racism problem this nation clearly has when it comes to their game.

We suspect the SFA won’t back down to these bullies and this won’t be the end of it as this nation’s football clubs and politicians refuse to take issues of racism seriously.

Meanwhile, Rangers fans are buzzing at a clip of Ibrox gaffer Steven Gerrard following the club’s 2-1 win over Hibs.
