Rangers boss Steven Gerrard erupted in celebration at the final whistle as the Gers came from behind to defeat Hibs in the Scottish Premiership.

The Gers came back from a goal down to pip 10-man Hibs after hatchet-man defender Ryan Porteous was sent off for fying into a challenge on Joe Aribo in the first half.

Kevin Nisbet had given the Hibees the lead but this moment undoubtedly changed the complexion of the match as the Ibrox side bounced back in the second half.

Quality deliveries from Nathan Patterson and Borna Barisic yielded goals from Kemar Roofe and Alfredo Morelos respectively as the Gers topped the Scottish Premiership.

Come the final whistle, Ibrox was raucous after securing this big three points and Steven Gerrard responded in kind by celebrating with fans.

In a passionate response after a difficult few weeks, Steven Gerrard ran across the pitch saluting fans and geeing supporters up following the win over Hibs.

The move symbolised just how valuable this win is considered by the Ibrox backroom staff and how delighted Gerrard was his team delivered it.

The moment caught the eye of Rangers fans in the stadium and those watching at home, and since the clip resurfaced on Twitter fans have been reacting.

This very much had shades of Parkhead in 2019 but in a season that has yet to fully get firing, defeating one of the division’s strongest sides sends out a message to the rest of the league:

Rangers are now one point clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership, with Hearts in second place after defeating Motherwell over the weekend.

Hibs remain in 3rd, four points behind the Gers whilst Old Firm rivals Celtic are already six points behind and find themselves in 6th place.

The victory was certainly a big one and it sends out a message that not by the Hibs, the Hearts or the Celtic, we shall not be moved.
