The big Spaniard spent a season at Ibrox between 2007 and 2008 and left a lasting impression on the Ibrox crowd.
A commanding, powerful presence at centre half, he’ll be returning to Glasgow to speak to Rangers fans on Friday, August 2nd.
Cuellar’s only season at Ibrox was an incredibly memorable one for Carlos as the Ibrox club reached the UEFA Cup final in Manchester.
Carlos Cuellar, now 38, was also crowned the Scottish Premier League Player of the Year and the Scottish Football Writers Association’s Player of the Year.
In a monumental season, the Spaniard played 65 games, scored five goals and endeared himself to the Rangers faithful.
Cuellar would leave after one season, heading to Premier League Aston Villa in a reported £8m deal.
The big defender would then spend four years at Villa Park, before moving to Sunderland.
He would then turn out for Norwich City, before returning to Spain with Almeria in the Spanish second division.
Most recently, Carlos Cuellar has plied his trade in Israel, playing for no fewer than four clubs in the middle eastern country.
Cuellar has played for Maccabi Petah Tikva, Kiryat Shmona, Beitar Jerusalem, and finally Bnei Yehuda where he won the Israeli State Cup last season.
Now without a club, Rangers fans will be eager to hear from a player who left a lasting impression on the Ibrox crowd.
It’s not the first time NN10 has had an iconic continental Rangers defender at their bar either. Lorenzo Amoruso visited Nacho’s bar back in November.
